THE WORLD OF MAN AND AVES
Why would humans ever want to connect with such fierce and dangerous animals? Falcons-–also known as the birds of prey––are the fastest animal ever. Exceeding the speed of a cheetah, the peregrine falcon reaches over 320km/h during its hunting dive. Yet these falcons are one of the most treasured cultures in China. During the olden days, the Naxi mountain tribesmen had arduous time searching for food and daily necessities. These struggles still prevail today, and these falcons have been the greatest support they received. Falconry was first introduced in China when Kublai Khan and his warriors traveled and set up a base in Li Jiang. Since then, falcons became known as the "tools" used for hunting. However, the word "tool" that is used to describe or label the falcons has long flourished into "buddy". Just like how you would call a dog your buddy, your pal or your friend, these falcons have become treasured life-long partners.
